Semi-Private Studio Pilates Classes
Studio classes are the Classical Pilates equivalent of circuit training.
Joseph Pilates taught this way in his studio and it is how I spend most of my days teaching today.
Each client is given a programme of exercises designed specifically to suit their needs. You will explore each piece of equipment and build upon your skills each week to allow for variety, challenge and personal development.
As the studio is equipped with two reformers, a cadillac, wunda chair, ladder barrel, and various small barrels and props there are a multitude of pilates exercises to explore.
With a maximum of three clients per session individual attention is guaranteed.
Build strength, connect to your body and have fun playing on the machines.
Semi-Private Studio Classes cost £26 per session

Private Studio Sessions
Each 1-1 private client is given their own programme of exercises to suit their individual postural, injury or training needs.
The studio is equipped with reformers, a cadillac, wunda chair, ladder barrel, ped-o-pull, various barrels and small props to create an exercise plan full of variety and challenge.
Each piece of equipment is used to enhance the way your body moves, to make you feel taller, stronger and more flexible.
Whether you are training for a triathlon, staying healthy during your pregnancy or recovering from an injury there is an exercise to suit your needs.
Private Studio Classes cost £70 per session

Mat Pilates Classes
In each mat class I teach the basic Pilates principles of breath, alignment and strength as well as the original 34 mat exercises that Joseph Pilates created including the Hundred, Roll Up and Rolling Like A Ball.
We also use small props like bands, balls and foam rollers to add variety and challenge to the session. Modifications are given for specific injury or postural requirements and with just 6 clients per class individual attention is given throughout.
Mat Classes cost £15 per drop in session
What is Pilates?
Joseph Pilates was born in 1883 and was a sickly child who suffered with asthma and other ailments.
He turned to exercise to try to correct his symptoms and became enamored by the classical Greek ideal of a man balanced in body, mind, and began to develop his own exercise system based on this concept which he called Contrology.
Whilst being interned on the Isle of Wight during the First World War Joe experimented with using bed springs attached to the bed frame to add resistance to the movements he was creating and the first bednasium was created which later inspired the invention of the reformer and Cadillac.
After the war Joe returned home to Germany before he emigrated to America in 1926. Once there he established a studio in New York and worked with many dancers and actors including George Balanchine and Roberta Peters.
Joseph Pilates continued to train clients at his studio until his death in 1967, at the age of 87. His clients continued to teach his work and spread contrology around the world and it is through this lineage that the work has been kept alive today.
